Our Mission
As a window of China’s Commerce, the Economic and Commercial Counselor’s Office of the Embassy of China in Cyprus serves as “a bridge and tie” between the two countries. The mission of the Office is to promote bilateral economic and trade cooperation between Cyprus and China as well as regional cooperation on the basis of equality and mutual benefit. Being an integral part of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Cyprus, our main obligation is as follows:
•To carry out, implement and publicize Chinese policies, strategies, laws and regulations in the foreign economic and trade areas.
•To work as a link between Chinese and Cyprus national and local governments, organizations, and companies in different fields and help build up channels and contacts. Promote mutual understanding between Cyprus and China and create sound environment for trade, economic cooperation and investment. Establish friendly cooperative relation and strengthen communication with Cyprus government institutions, economic and trade organizations and regional and international organizations.
•To work cooperatively to sign the bilateral agreement on Economic and Commercial Cooperation according to authorization.
•To collect and analyze the economic and commercial data of Cyprus.
•To provide consultation for Chinese and Cypriot companies and enterprises in bilateral trade and investment. Provide information and service for economic and trade delegations for both sides. Help expand cooperation in bilateral economic and trade ties. Promote import, export and investment.
•To guide over fairs and exhibitions, business seminars, and other business related activities.
•To supervise and coordinate the Chinese companies in Cyprus and to protect their lawful interest and rights.
•To undertake other assignments given by the Ministry of Commerce of China and the Embassy of China in Cyprus.
